Red Wing Riverview Skyway “Pedestrian Bridge” Update:

You are invited to Old West Main Street on Sunday, September 25, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to celebrate Red Wing’s West End District and see all the improvements that have been made during construction.

Old West Main Street Update:

The project is continuing to progress, and significant changes have occurred over the past couple of weeks. All the concrete footings for the streetlights, lighted bollards, entry monuments, and kiosk have been poured. The contractor was successful in completing the prep work of all the landscape beds this past week allowing for the planting of the trees and shrubs to start this coming Monday, September 19. The landscape subcontractor anticipates being completed with all plantings and mulch by end of next week. Additionally, the concrete subcontractor is scheduled to be onsite Monday and Tuesday next week to complete the rest of the concrete at the bridge plaza and complete the other half of the colored crosswalks. The roadway is expected to be fully reopened by end of the day Friday, September 23. The electrical subcontractor anticipates having all the streetlights and bollards installed and operational by the end of the month. The closure of Jackson Street from Old West Main to Levee Road is scheduled to start on Wednesday, September 21, for an unknown length of time to allow for the installation of a new underground watermain underneath the RR tracks and construction of the new concrete pavement connecting into the roundabout. Also, the closure of the alley between Washington Street and Jefferson is scheduled for Monday, September 26, to allow for completion of the new storm sewer and bituminous pavement.
