The state announced schools in Minnesota will be closed the remainder of the school year to help combat COVID-19, the Associated Press reported.

The state also decided to ease some of the stay-at-home restrictions to allow up to 100,000 people to return to work with new restrictions, the news agency reported.

Riedell Skates, of Red Wing, will be among the business that open with the new restrictions, according to the news agency.

The new restrictions include allowing industrial, manufacturing and office settings that are not open to the public to reopen, but the state wants anyone who can still work from home to remain working from home, the news agency reported.

Companies must also create and implement monitoring plans for employee health that include cleaning and sanitation procedures.

Workers who are on unemployment benefits and are able to return to work will now have to besides those who are vulnerable and those who are caregivers to children and other loved ones do not have to return to work, the news agency reported.
