Minnesota Sen. Mike Goggin (R-Red Wing) was the lead author on a bill designed to give students access to every career opportunity, which passed the Minnesota Senate last week, according to a press release from the Minnesota State Republican Caucus.

The bill will require school districts throughout the state to supply skilled trades, military recruiters and manufacturing representatives to give information on their careers to students in Minnesota schools.

The best way to help students prepare for post-graduation life is giving them exposure and information on as many career opportunities as possible, according to the press release.

“I just want to give kids every opportunity to see what’s out there for them,” Goggin said in the press release. “Every student will take a different path and while a four-year degree may be the perfect fit for one, another may find fulfillment as a skilled tradesman or in the military. It is up to us to provide them with the options, and for them to pursue their dreams!”
