County Of Wabasha recently issued the following announcement.
Wondering why the Wabasha Parkside Marina pedestrian bridge is closed? The City of Wabasha is working on keeping our river from being contaminated during high waters and floods. Pat Mueller, our Water-Wastewater Operator of 14 years, has teamed up with local contractor Danckwart Landscaping & Excavating to raise the height of two manholes. When high water occurs, we can’t reach the current level of manholes which are under water to clean out blockages.
By raising the manholes, this will ensure year round maintenance access to our sewer siphon pipes no matter the flood levels. This project was paid for by a DNR Flood Prevention Grant and is helping to keep our waters clean in Wabasha.
