MCA and MTAS: How many Faribault Public School District students took their Math tests in 2021-22 school year?

Faribault Public School District ranked second in the Rice County for test participation, with 1,514 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Faribault Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 25.7% over the previous year.

Faribault Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 20% in 2021-22 school year.

11th-grade students stood out with 5% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, sixth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 72% not meeting the expected standards.

Faribault Public School District encompasses schools within Rice County and has a main office in Faribault.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
