Cannon Falls Public School District: MCA and MTAS Math results for 2021-22 school year

Cannon Falls Public School District ranked second in the Goodhue County for test participation, with 522 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Cannon Falls Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 6.7% over the previous year.

Cannon Falls Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 49% in 2021-22 school year.

Eighth grade students stood out with 23% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 39% not meeting the expected standards.

Cannon Falls Public School District encompasses schools within Goodhue County and has a main office in Cannon Falls.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.
