Kenyon-Wanamingo School District: MCA and MTAS Reading results for 2021-22 school year

Kenyon-Wanamingo School District ranked fourth in the Goodhue County for test participation, with 354 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Kenyon-Wanamingo School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year fell by 3.3% from the previous year.

Kenyon-Wanamingo School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 50% in 2021-22 school year.

Seventh grade students stood out with 13% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, sixth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 40% not meeting the expected standards.

Kenyon-Wanamingo School District encompasses schools within Goodhue County and has a main office in Wanamingo.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
