How did Red Wing Public School District students do on 2021-22 MCA and MTAS Math tests?

Red Wing Public School District ranked first in the Goodhue County for test participation, with 1,068 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Red Wing Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year fell by 1.4% from the previous year.

Red Wing Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 34% in 2021-22 school year.

11th-grade students stood out with 21% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, seventh grade students had the most room for improvement, with 52% not meeting the expected standards.

Red Wing Public School District encompasses schools within Goodhue County and has a main office in Red Wing.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
