Le Sueur-Henderson School District secures second spot in student Math test participation in 2021-22 school year

Le Sueur-Henderson School District ranked second in the Le Sueur County for test participation, with 492 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Le Sueur-Henderson School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 11.1% over the previous year.

Le Sueur-Henderson School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 51% in 2021-22 school year.

Eighth grade students stood out with 39% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, seventh grade students had the most room for improvement, with 40% not meeting the expected standards.

Le Sueur-Henderson School District encompasses schools within Le Sueur County and has a main office in Le Sueur.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
