White students were the largest ethnic group in Goodhue County school districts in the 2024-25 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

Of the 7,947 students enrolled in Goodhue County schools, 83.8% were white. Hispanic students were the second-largest ethnicity, making up 7.7% of the student population.

In the previous school year, white students were also the most represented group in Goodhue County school districts, representing 84.6% of the student body.

Goodhue County Education District had the most balanced racial distribution among county districts, with 72.7% white students, 7.5% Hispanic, 7.2% multiracial, 7.2% American Indian, 4.7% Black, 0.3% Other Indigenous Peoples and 0.3% Asian students.

In the 2024-25 school year, the total number of students enrolled in the county increased 0.4% compared to the previous year.

According to the 2024 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), Minnesota fourth graders scored 241 in math, compared with the national average of 237. However, scores for both grades remain below pre-pandemic levels in math and reading.
