City of Dundas issued the following announcement on April 23.
The 2020 Census is important for every household to complete as it provides data that determines congressional representation, and hundreds of billions in Federal funding every year that will impact communities for the next decade. So the City of Northfield issues 2020 Census response rate challenge to the City of Dundas. In response the Dundas City Council agreed to a friendly wager against Northfield to see which city has the highest response rate for the 2020 Census. Both cities agreed that for one month:
- If Dundas wins, Northfield’s Bridge Square will be renamed “Dundas Square”
- If Northfield wins, the Dundas Dog Park will be renamed “Northfield Dog Park”.
The winner will be determined by the response rate listed on the 2020 Census website on May 15, 2020. As of April 21, Dundas’ response rate is 74%, and Northfield’s is 69.7%. Residents can complete their questionnaire by phone, by mail or online: https://my2020census.gov/
Let’s go Dundas residents and WIN this challenge!
