The Minnesota GOP has shown their support for U.S. Senate candidate Jason Lewis following an emergency surgery he had earlier this week.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Jason Lewis and his family as he undergoes surgery today and we wish him a speedy recovery," the GOP stated in a press release. “Jason is the biggest fighter we know. He cares so much about Minnesota and has worked hard this entire campaign cycle. We look forward to seeing Jason again on the campaign trail soon and will work on his behalf until he returns.”
Jason Lewis was discharged from the hospital on Oct. 28 after undergoing emergency internal hernia surgery on Oct. 26, according to KARE 11.
Lewis' campaign manager, Tom Szymanski, released a statement on Twitter stating that Lewis was taken to the emergency room because he was suffering from severe abdominal pain.
Doctors determined that he had a severe internal hernia after many tests and examinations. Doctors added that the condition "is life-threatening if not treated quickly."
