Democratic incumbent Brad Tabke lost his House seat in District 55A to Republican Party candidate Erik Mortensen and has conceded.

Tabke congratulated the winning candidate and wished him well in his new role.

“I wish Mr. Mortensen the best of luck in representing our community. There are many challenges ahead and he will need our help to craft solutions and solve problems for Shakopee and the State of Minnesota.

“I couldn’t be prouder of the work we have accomplished together.  It has been an honor to serve and I can’t thank you enough for trusting me with this opportunity,” he wrote on Facebook.

Mortensen also thanked voters for the support.

“Well it's 2am, been a LONG night but all of our efforts paid off! Thank you to all of the most amazing supporters that have donated their time and treasure all year long. Now the fun begins,” he posted on Facebook.
