Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Public School District students performance on MCA and MTAS in 2021-22 school year?

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Public School District ranked third in the Le Sueur County for test participation, with 417 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 10.3% over the previous year.

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 47% in 2021-22 school year.

Sixth grade students stood out with 16% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, seventh grade students had the most room for improvement, with 39% not meeting the expected standards.

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Public School District encompasses schools within Le Sueur County and has a main office in Waterville.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.
