Rice County is in need of personal protection equipment (PPE), such as face masks, and is currently requesting donations to help first responder groups on the frontlines of fighting COVID-19, according to New Prague Times.
Recipients of the masks and PPE include law enforcement, ambulances, and fire & rescue, as well as health care centers, nursing homes, daycare providers, group homes and organizations that are offering food and childcare services. Other essential workers will also be gifted with the donated masks.
The county is asking for masks to be never opened, new and never worn. The county is also accepting disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, disposable gowns and surgical face masks.
Drop boxes were installed in the following areas as of Friday, April 17:
- Lonsdale Police Department, 115 Alabama St SW, Lonsdale
- Morristown Public Works/Sheriff’s Office Building, 109 2nd St SW, Morristown
- Dundas Highway Shop, 590 County Road 1 E, Dundas
- Rice County Government Center, South Entrance Doors, 320 3rd St NW, Faribault
