Community members are invited to an author talk with Don McGee on his book, The Long Road Home: An Illustrated History of the Search for My Ancestors on Saturday, March 26 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Northfield Public Library, 201 Washington Street.
Fifteen years ago Don McGee started a family genealogy project with the goal of determining whether the McGee's were French or Irish. After years of research he amassed a huge volume of material and decided to write a book that contextualized what he learned about his ancestors, specifically, societal conditions and personal events that prompted his ancestors to travel to America and cross the country coast-to-coast. The Long Road Home tells a lively story and will be of interest to budding and experienced genealogists.
Masks are required for this indoor program and social distancing will be observed.
