Faribault Senior High School issued the following announcement on Dec. 05.
Congratulations to the Faribault High School Science Team!!!
Lauren Meier, Marina Tartilan, Thomas Drenth, Ava Nelson, Delia Denis, Allison Norton, Andrew Flicek, Ella Chappuis, Makia Bauer, Linus Weiffen, Alaina Nelson, Morgan Holven and Gaby Olivo, for an amazing job competing at the 16th Annual Boyceville Invitational!
Our team finished 17/62 teams, which means we placed in the top 30% of all the teams competing!!! We also had 7 top 10 finishes in events, and a total of 17 top 50% finishes! At our last two competitions we have broken the top 30% of teams competing! These are the two best showings for the Faribault Science Team in the last decade, and possibly ever.
The following team members placed in the top 10 of their event;
Linus Weiffen and Alaina Nelson finished 9th in Astronomy
Marina Tartilan and Allison Norton finished 5th in Bridge
Lauren Meier and Allison Norton finished 9th in Disease Detectives
Thomas Drenth, Lauren Meier and Marina Tartilan finished 7th in Experimental Design
Morgan Holven and Andrew Flicek finished 6th in Rocks & Minerals
Makia Bauer and Andrew Flicek finished 5th in Scrambler
Gaby Olivo and Makia Bauer finished 7th in Write It Do It
